catching on with age

i wonder if this dormant blog is still in use.

2 great movies in 2 nights. 1 of which i've watched it years ago. i guess one of the signs of you putting on with age is when you have different feeling when you watched a show that you've watched before and catch a very different unerstanding of it.

American History X and Road to Perdition. both of which required me to check out wikipedia or webster for clarification of something in the meaning... i checked up on 'perdition' and it said 'hell'. or like 'final destruction'. so literally it means road to your death, or something like that. which gave me a very different understanding of the story indeed. and of course i had a friend who told me American History X is about anti semitism. which i thought was basically like anti jewish.. but the show clearly wasnt. it was about white guys against black guys and so on. but anyway, my appreciation of the films told me otherwise, that they were about family love. one of a father's love and the other a brother's love. both of which dont want their kid/younger brother follow their footsteps and someone died as a result. amazing how they fit in perfectly together.

kinda in those situations where its really hard to tell if the father or the elder brother were bad guys or good guys. but their love for their family clearly was admirable. lots of gunshots here and there of course. a lot of black and white used in those films too.

jie wei and co missed their flight back to london. which means instead of seeing them at 2 am tonight, i'd only see them at 2 pm tmr. 12 hour difference. 150 euros difference.

kinda lucky i didnt book the car to oxford. really lucky. these are all risks..

seems like i didnt utilise my britain card at all!

the room's in a mess and as usual i am in my procrastination of cleaning it up again. i wonder if i'd wake up in time to do groceries and cook them a welcome back meal. hm.. how about going for fish and chips hhaah.

at the rate i am spending... i dont even dare to update my account on how much i spent.

Paris, once again

my days in Europe has been an overwhelming series of highlights, to an extent i dont even know what to tell people when they ask me about my time here.

today, just today alone, i went back to the house that i stayed in 10 years ago when i was in paris. and the feeling was just serene. its like returning to your old house for a visit to reminisce those moments you spent there. i remember the familiar cherry tree where we plucked cherries from and ate them immediately, i had them after a home cooked dinner today again. i remember the lake, of which i walked past tonight on the way to their city house and saw a beautiful moon, with its reflection almost in total clarity from the lake.

and right now i am sitting in my uncle's room just waiting to watch perhaps the final game of the NBA finals this season, and i am wearing my Kobe Bryant Jersey, hoping that they will force a game 7.

in this same day, i went into Louis Vuitton, THE Louis Vuitton on Champs Elysees, and got Daddy a coin pouch cum key chain pouch. He once came to a Louis Vuitton in Paris and spent a lot of money here, and so i thought it'd be nice to buy him something, no matter how small it is.

and my grand uncle's dog in Paris is so so so so cute. he grunts like a pig hahaha. and he looks at you like a human being!

i decided to come back to my granduncle's place from Logne, and it took me about 40 mins train ride, and another 15 to 20 mins walk to reach here. on the way here i got to see how paris was really like at night. and i got off a train because there were a few roudy black people who werent that nice and i went off to take the next train.
